Over 35 food trucks will gather at one spot in the north metro on Saturday

Start preparing your stomach for everything you’ll eat the State Fair!

On Saturday, July 22, over 35 food trucks will be in downtown Anoka from 12-10 p.m. It’s organized by the Uptown Food Truck Festival, which was at the end of June.

The event is part of Discover Anoka Days, an annual event with sidewalk sales aplenty.

With 35 trucks to choose from, where do you start? The Moral Omnivore’s Fried Tomato BLT is totally worth the higher price and the wait in line. Get the Curried Mushroom Fries, too.

For something sweet, A Peace of Cake is a food truck I was recently introduced to, and my coworkers were extremely impressed with the mini donuts they’re creating. Dough Dough is new and is one I’m excited to try; they’re serving up six flavors of cookie dough ordered by the cup. Dough Dough is owned by the team from O’Cheeze, another food truck. The full list of trucks attending can be found here.

Besides food, the Festival includes live music and fantastic people watching. And I’ll be there! Visit me inside the Twin Cities Live tent from 12-2 p.m. for your chance to spin a prize wheel and take home a goodie.

Like it is during the Anoka Halloween Parade, traffic and parking will be tough, but don’t let that deter you from going. Plan on parking a bit further out and walk past the businesses along Main Street. To find the Festival itself, put 2015 South First Avenue in Google Maps.
