  • The Carter Christmas Lights Show is drawing awareness to Spruce Up Albert Lea, a $75,000 fundraising campaign to help update the city of Albert Lea’s holiday display — something that hasn’t been done over in 20 years
  • This display is just minutes away from Interstates 35 and 90, so if you’re traveling this holiday season, it’s easy to check out if you find yourself in southern Minnesota

  • The Cairl family reminds you to make sure you turn off your headlights so you can really enjoy the display. Also, a friendly reminder to not park in or block any driveway in the neighborhood
  • The display raises awareness for Hope4Youth, a non-profit based in Anoka helping homeless young adults meet basic needs

  • 1.7 million lights are on display at Sibley Park in Mankato!

  • You can also walk through the display; speakers will play music
  • Once you enter the driving loop, switch over to 90.1 FM
  • Nearly 80 non-profit groups are involved in putting this event on each year
  • Non-perishable food and monetary donations are accepted and given back to the participating non-profits

  • PD Shimmers is a multi-block holiday light display drawing awareness to Parkinson’s
  • Over 60,000 lights are included — one for every American diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2018
  • Organizer Mike Justak is battling Parkinson’s, and said 2017 would be his last year. However, neighbors stepped up to help plan this year’s display
  • Both areas will have synchronized shows to music on 97.9 FM
