For senior citizens and those with compromised autoimmune systems, leaving home during the COVID-19 pandemic is out of the question. However, life must continue.
Below is a guide showcasing nonprofits and grocery stores who are delivering food to those who are not comfortable going out in public.

Nonprofits
Open Arms of Minnesota delivers a week’s worth of meals, free of charge, to those with cancer, HIV/AIDS, MS, and other life-threatening illnesses. They are looking for volunteers to deliver meals as their clients cannot leave their homes. You can also donate online.
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Burnsville delivers lunches to seniors who are isolated or practicing social distancing. They partner with south metro restaurants. If you know of a senior living in the south metro who would like a meal, email Kari at ksnyder@popmn.org.
Meals on Wheels, open to those recovering from surgery or illness, continues to deliver food around the metro. They ask for a modest contribution. They are also looking for on-call delivery drivers.
Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota delivers meals to doors.
Help At Your Door delivers groceries to seniors and individuals with disabilities in the seven-county Twin Cities metro.
The restaurant Avocadish has made it a goal to deliver 10,000 meals to families in need. You can donate or sign up for meals online.

Let’s Dish will ship homemade family meals to your door via UPS.

Walmart offers delivery services. It’s advised you check availability before you start placing your order.
Whole Foods offers free 2 hour grocery delivery for Amazon Prime members.

Cub offers curbside pickup and delivery services. They also reserve the 6:00 – 7:00 am hour for those who are most at risk of COVID-19.
