If you’re running out of ideas to keep the kids occupied before they start some sort of school, get your family to bake cookies and compete in the Minnesota State Fair’s Cookie Decorating Showcase.
It’s fairly simple. Here’s how it works:
- Make (or buy) cookies. Need a sugar cookie recipe? The State Fair shared the blue ribbon winner from the Cookie Recipe Challenge.
- Decorate them as you wish.
- Take a photo.
- Email the photo (just one photo), along with your name and city of residence, to cookiedecorating2020@mnstatefair.org.
Only one entry per person. You must be a Minnesota resident to participate. The deadline to enter is Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 4:30 pm.
One winner will be selected and will receive tickets to the 2021 Minnesota State Fair, which runs August 26 through September 6, 2021. Other favorites will be featured on the State Fair’s social media channels. No ribbons will be awarded.
Although the State Fair is canceled in 2020, they are running other virtual showcases like this. The list can be found here.
