Thanks to my history minor in college, I’m fascinated by how things used to look. Old Minneapolis is a feast for my eyes. They regularly post photos of the people and places in the City of Lakes prior to October 1988. You can also post photos you might find in your storage box to get a community’s worth of insight as to when and where it was taken. Their content is exclusively on Facebook.

Tom Oszman obviously pours a lot of time into his TC Media Now Facebook page, website and YouTube channel, posting video from Twin Cities television newscasts and shows, along with plenty of photos. Much of it is timely, too — you’ll repeatedly see newscasts posted to the date from three decades ago. If you’re a native Minnesotan, you’ll definitely recognize many of the faces and places you’ll see in the feed.

The Facebook page every Minnesotan needs to like: Thrifty Traveler.

Every Minnesotan needs to follow Thrifty Traveler. Jared Kamrowski has grown his Facebook page to nearly 70,000 likes because of his consistent posting of airfare deals. You can subscribe to a free daily email digest of steals, with a guarantee that one deal each day is out of MSP. Thanks to Jared, I recently booked roundtrip airfare to New York City for $236, which is less than half of what I would have paid booking it through the airline. If you’re not on Facebook, you’ll also find Jared’s deals on his website.
