In 2017, there are exactly 40 days from Thanksgiving Day to New Years Day. And with the elimination of the eighth floor display at Macy’s in downtown Minneapolis and Holiday Lights in the Park in Saint Paul, along with the disappointing change from tradition at Holidazzle, more people than ever are looking for new holiday activities. Enter “40 Ways to Holiday.” Each day between November 23 and January 1 will have at least one event worth checking out, along with plenty of giveaways along the way! Find the full list of days here.
Day 6: Tuesday, November 28
Featured pick: Today is Giving Tuesday!
Following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, International Giving Tuesday is a way to support non-profits without leaving your couch. One Minnesota based non-profit participating is CaringBridge. Right, they’re based right here in Minnesota! The well-known website helps those facing medical issues to keep loved ones up-to-date through blog posts and photos. This week is the perfect time to make a donation — CaringBridge’s Board of Directors will match contributions made November 28 – 30 up to $125,000. Aren’t the holidays meant for giving and celebrating what you’re thankful for, anyway?

Lawless Distilling Company in Minneapolis is open seven-nights a week through December 31 (they’re usually only open Wednesdays through Saturdays). Drinks are created by Bittercube and Cocktail Kingdom. And Lawless is decked out in holiday decor to get you in the holiday spirit. You’ll find Lawless at 2619 28th Avenue South, Suite 100, Minneapolis.
