Sever’s Holiday Lights, the popular drive-thru holiday show off of Highway 169 in Shakopee, returns this year as Trista Lights at Sever’s, with the team behind Minnetrista’s Trista Lights taking over the display. It opens Thursday, Nov. 26, and runs nightly through Sunday, Jan. 3, 2027. Tickets go on sale Saturday, Nov. 14, according to the Trista Lights Facebook page.

From a Minnetrista Front Yard to Sever’s
Ryan and Trent Kasper-Cook started Trista Lights at their Minnetrista home in 2015. A year later, the display appeared on ABC’s The Great Christmas Light Fight. There’s already a connection to Shakopee. Ryan is part of Epic Light Shows, the production team that previously worked on the Sever’s drive-thru.
What’s Changing, and What Stays the Same
Trista Lights say their 2026 display at Sever’s will showcase more than 2 million lights, three times as many as the Sever’s display in 2025. The show also will run a week longer, staying open through Jan. 3, 2027. You’ll also have an extra hour to attend. The show is open until 10 p.m. every night. Most importantly, ticket prices went down. Standard vehicles on most nights went from $30 to $25 this year, with peak night pricing going down from $45 to $35.
In 2025, Sever’s allowed people to hop out of their cars for food trucks and a photo opp. That won’t be a part of the Trista Lights experience.
