In 2017, there are exactly 40 days from Thanksgiving Day to New Years Day. And with the elimination of the eighth floor display at Macy’s in downtown Minneapolis and Holiday Lights in the Park in Saint Paul, along with the disappointing change from tradition at Holidazzle, more people than ever are looking for new holiday activities. Enter “40 Ways to Holiday.” Each day between November 23 and January 1 will have at least one event worth checking out, along with plenty of giveaways along the way! Find the full list of days here.
Day 8: Wednesday, December 6
Featured pick: Inline skating inside U.S. Bank Stadium
It’s time to burn off the extra calories you intake over the holidays! U.S. Bank Stadium, home of Super Bowl LII, is open for inline skating on select dates in November and December. Family skating begins at 5:00 p.m. and athletic skating goes from 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. Skaters will need to bring their own equipment; no rentals are available. Make sure to bring a helmet, too — it must be worn while skating. Additional inline skating dates are November 27, December 11, December 12, December 20, December 21, December 27 and December 28.
- Brush up on your cooking skills before the family stop by this holiday season. Kitchen in the Market is located in Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis and hosts its most popular class, Cooking the Market, tonight from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. Start with a champagne cocktail and then take a tour of Midtown Global Market to pick up ingredients. The class is broken up into teams to create dishes, and you’ll dine family-style to end the night.
- It’s the second and final day of the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Art Club Art Sale at their campus in Coon Rapids. The holiday shop is open from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
