100+ Best Birthday Freebies in 2026: Free Food, Drinks & Gifts

Updated September 2026

Happy birthday to you! I created this list with more than 100 birthday freebies. If you know of a perk that isn’t listed, please let me know by filling out the form at the end of this page.

I shared some of these freebies on KSTP-TV’s Minnesota Live.

Advice on cashing in

Before you head out, please note you will need to register an account at many of these businesses in advance. Some require an active profile weeks, and in a few cases, a month, before your birthday hits. You won’t likely be able to walk in and say, “it’s my birthday, give me free stuff!” However, as you’ll see, creating free profiles can be well worth it.

I created a list on the Notes app on my phone with all the businesses I have accounts. I included on the note when my “birthday” is so I remember to get the freebie. The list on the Notes app is also a good reminder to sign in when I’m at those establishments so I keep my accounts active.

Have fun… and happy birthday!

I would love to see your photos when you collect freebies! They might end up on my Facebook, Instagram or here on my website. You can also email me here.

How I verify these deals

I personally sign up for and test many of these offers, check official company terms when available and include the month and year each deal was last verified. Birthday rewards change frequently, so let me know if you receive an offer that’s different from what’s listed here.

Download all of these deals on a checklist

I created a checklist with all of these deals that you can easily download and print! Click here to view and save it to your device.

Birthday freebies that require an app

Most deals will let you log in to your account on a computer or through their website, but there are a few freebies that require you to download an app on a phone or tablet. I have not personally verified the following offers.

Baskin-Robbins: You must download the Baskin-Robbins app and create an account. You cannot sign up online. You receive a free scoop of ice cream for your birthday. Plus, you can add your family’s birthdays to your account so they can get freebies, too.

Dave & Busters: I have heard you receive $10 in free game play on your birthday if you download their app and join their Rewards program. Learn more.

Häagen-Dazs: You must download the Häagen-Dazs phone app in order to participate. You cannot sign up on their website. According to their website, you receive free ice cream on your birthday. Learn more.

Pizza Hut: It sounds like they have a birthday deal but people have had limited success getting it. You cannot create an account on their website. Let me know if you redeem it.

White Castle: It sounds like their birthday reward is a dessert-on-a-stick, but it requires you to download their app.

Birthday deals I could not verify

I don’t have the following deals on this list:

Casey’s: My birthday came and went without a freebie in my account or inbox. I’m not sure if a prior spend is required to get a freebie.

Country Kitchen: I joined their Club and stopped receiving emails from them. When I went to their Club’s signup page, it had a 404 error.

CVS: Some have reported a $3 birthday credit if you are an ExtraCare card member with a birthday on file. After my birthday, I checked my profile and didn’t have anything on my account, even though my account is active. If you do set up an ExtraCare account, you’ll want to use your actual birthday, because they use your birthday to verify your identification and it could be tied to your MinuteClinic account.

Dairy Queen: It sounds like you need to have a prior spend in order to receive a birthday freebie from Dairy Queen. I have not found information about what you need to spend in order to get the perk.

Edible Arrangements: I created a profile and put my birthday in, but did not receive a birthday freebie. I did not see anything online about having to spend in the prior year in order to receive the perk.

Famous Footwear: Their website states you receive a $5 credit on your birthday and a discount the month of your birthday. However, I did not see anything in my profile and did not get an email about it.

Jimmy John’s: My birthday came and went without a freebie despite using my account in the last year.

Petco: You can register your pet’s birthday, but when my pet’s birthday came around, all I received was an email with no freebie.

Popeye’s: I created an account and receive marketing emails, but I did not get a birthday freebie. I did not spend money there in the prior year.

Sbarro: I am in the Sbarro Rewards program. At the end of July 2025, I received an email that they were pausing the program for “3 months”. As of July 2026, it’s not back.

Tono Pizzeria: Their website claims you get $10 for your birthday. After downloading their app (required), I was never prompted to add my birthday, so I’m not sure how I can redeem the perk.

Trader Joe’s: Rumor is online some stores will give you a bouquet of flowers on your birthday, but that varies by location.

Wendy’s: I created an account and did not receive anything for my birthday. I did not use my account over the past year.

West Elm: There is a $25 birthday credit, but you need to open one of their credit cards. I do have the West Elm card, and the perk is worth it, but I would not advise opening up a credit card just for the perk.

World Market: I signed up for rewards and entered my birthday, but didn’t receive anything.

Birthday freebies FAQ

What birthday freebies don’t require a purchase?

Several birthday rewards can be redeemed without buying anything, including offers from First Avenue, Crayola Experience, Minnesota Children’s Museum, Paradise Car Wash, Dunn Brothers Coffee, Puttshack, Madewell and others. Some still require you to join a rewards program or sign up in advance, so check the individual offer details before your birthday.

What birthday freebies don’t require signing up?

A handful of birthday deals do not require joining an email list or rewards program. Examples include First Avenue, Crayola Experience, Paradise Car Wash, Stevie Ray’s Comedy Cabaret and some local restaurant offers. Requirements can change, so check each listing for the most recent verification information.

How early should I sign up for birthday rewards?

Sign up at least a few weeks before your birthday whenever possible. Some programs require you to join 7, 14 or even 30 days in advance, while others require previous purchases or account activity before you qualify for a birthday reward. Signing up a month ahead gives you the best chance of receiving the offers.

What restaurants give you free food on your birthday?

Many restaurants offer free food, desserts or account credits for birthdays. Examples include Benihana, Red Robin, Firehouse Subs, Olive Garden, Jersey Mike’s, Panera, Papa Johns, Old Chicago and numerous Minnesota restaurants. Some offers require a purchase, previous account activity or membership in a rewards program.

What birthday freebies are available for kids?

Kid-friendly birthday deals include free admission to Minnesota Children’s Museum, birthday rewards from Red Robin, a free slice of chocolate cake from Portillo’s, Benihana’s Kabuki Kids birthday offer and family birthday benefits from Pizza Ranch. Build-A-Bear and Lunds & Byerlys also offer birthday-related deals for children.

What are the best Minnesota birthday freebies?

Some of the most unique Minnesota birthday offers include free concert tickets from First Avenue, a free car wash from Paradise Car Wash, comedy and entertainment deals, local restaurant rewards and Minnesota Children’s Museum admission. These local offers are one of the reasons this guide goes beyond the birthday deals available from national chains.
