IKEA is giving away $10 gift cards and you can get one

You have one, I have one and your crazy aunt has one: a birthday. And that’s all you need to get $10 to spend at IKEA.

I heard rumblings about this freebie but waited for my birthday to come around so I could actually confirm it. I thought it was too good to be true.

Well folks, it’s legit.

It was $15 when I got my certificate in June 2019, but as of March 2020, it’s reported to be $10. But it’s still worth it.

Here’s how it works.

You need to be a member of the IKEA Family program. Don’t worry, it’s free to sign up and you can do it online. I checked my filtered email folder and I don’t see any marketing emails from IKEA, meaning you won’t be annoyed with a bunch of promotions.

For the $10, you will receive it in the mail, so make sure IKEA has an up-to-date address for you. The coupon is good the month of your birthday. My birthday is July 1st and I got my certificate on June 25th. It expires July 31st.

In addition to the $10, you also get a coupon for a free birthday dinner at the IKEA restaurant.

This is on top of the year-round perks the IKEA Family membership offers, which include free tea or coffee at the restaurant and extra time for your kids in their supervised play place.
